When we started this trip onto IVF Land on Surrogacy World I was sure it was going to work for us on the first try. No doubt in my mind.
You see, we don't have a fertility problem, we have a carrying problem.
It just seems so simple - take my healthy sperm, add Chrsty's perfect eggs, and add one healthy uterus and say the magic word and "BAM" there is a healthy baby. What could go wrong?

First Beta - GREAT.

TWINS - GREAT.
Second Ultrasound heartbeats - GREAT.
Then - we meet our sworn enemy Mr. SCH.

We have actually passed through this stage and are moving on to a more enjoyable time in the process.
We are getting ready to make our new announcement soon that we are starting round 2.
Which by my count is round 4.
Maybe, I just don't get the new math.

Sorry, there are more acronyms in this game than any other!
SCH is Subchorionic Hematoma in short is a bleed of the lining. If it does not interfere with the placement of where the embryos are attached it can be a bleed and nothing more.
In our case, it interfered with where the babies were attached to the lining wall and we lost them. It is more common with IVF and then again more common with twins.
I will add a little bit more information. While still a very big wound for us it is not a recent one. And one that we have had to explain often.
SCH is a silent baby killer. And they don't know how to control her. She is a terror on the loose inside the womb.
She attacks IVF pregnancies and twins more than others. There is not a known cure for her. Many say bedrest can help her from growing, but there is no way to make her go away.
I believe (and will be corrected here if I am wrong) that it can do one of two things. 1) knock the baby out of position. 2) Limit the babies blood supply.
It's like watching a hurricane come to shore. You know it is coming for days and all you can do is monitor it and watch what happens.
I can't begin to imagine.
